Hoping to get a promotion, he often borrows his apartment to his superiors, who bring their ”girlfriends” here. The much dreamed promotion is obtained by the ambitious official, only after borrowing the apartment to the chief of staff. Baxter doesn’t know that the boss’s partner is in fact his girlfriend. The Apartment (1960) is a wonderful film with two exceptional actors, recommended to all generations.
