Jesus of Nazareth (1977) is a large evocation of the life and sufferings of Jesus Christ from birth to crucifixion. The film narrates the birth, activity, process, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, as we know from the New Testament. It is the man who became a teacher considered to be eccentric, which gathered many followers, while talking of peace in an alternative form of Hebrew Scriptures. In the end Jesus yield to ‘leadership’ civil and religious in Palestine occupied by the Roman Empire, but his voice remains heard long after his death in Christianity.
