Walter Matthau and Ingrid Bergman in Cactus Flower (1969) – Toni Simmons (Goldie Hawn), an innocent and charming 21-year-old, believes that her boyfriend, Dr. Julian Winston, who is much older and very … married, can’t leave his wife because of the children he- they have together. But in reality, Julian has no children. Besides, he doesn’t have a wife. But he says he has, because he is afraid of how even the most innocent relationship can evolve. The relationship with Toni evolves unexpectedly, in the sense that, this time, Julian is going to get seriously involved. Only Toni wants to meet the doctor’s wife, and he arranges for the role to be played by his own nurse. However, the situation is complicated when Toni starts to sympathize with the so-called wife, and even more, to cry for pity!
